"From this hour I ordain myself loos'd of limits and imaginary lines, going where I list, my own master total and absolute, Listening to others, considering well what they say, Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating, Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me."
Walt Whitman (1819-92)
"When I look back now over my life and call to mind what I might have had simply for taking and did not take, my heart is like to break."

Prayers Sent Around the World
I just found out that fellow blogger Beks at A Three Fold Utopian Dream was injured pretty badly in an industrial accident and has spent the last two weeks or so in the hospital. She's home, but I imagine she has a lot of healing to do. I know she will covet your prayers for a speedy and complete recovery, and probably wouldn't mind a comment or email wishing her well.
I've always found that one of the pitfalls of knowing someone online is that when things happen to them in the "real world" it can be like they dropped off the face of the Earth. One day we'll figure out a way to overcome that, I expect.
Catatonic Torri Hutchinson says she was driving down the freeway near Blackfoot, Idaho, speeding a bit because she was late for her massage therapy class, steering with one hand while putting on lipstick with the other, when she noticed the man next to her was signaling for her to pull over. She did, and the man ran up, pulled her terrified cat from the ski rack on her car’s roof, and handed it to her. She had even stopped for gas after leaving home, 10 miles back, but hadn’t noticed it up there. “She’s always on my car,” Hutchinson admits. And, knowing what people reading the story will think, she told the reporter interviewing her that “I’m not an airhead.” (Pocatello Idaho State Journal) ...Sure, honey. Whatever you say.
