"From this hour I ordain myself loos'd of limits and imaginary lines, going where I list, my own master total and absolute, Listening to others, considering well what they say, Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating, Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me."
Walt Whitman (1819-92)

Hmmm... Maybe Not.
acu-men Function: noun Etymology: Latin acumin-, acumen, literally, point, from acuere 1 : keenness and depth of perception, discernment, or discrimination especially in practical matters 2 : what a vascular surgeon might have, and probably does
I don't mind saying that for the last couple of weeks I have felt like a time bomb hooked to an egg timer. I mean, even green bananas might not be a good investment, I'm thinking, if I could keel over at any minute.
But, it turns out, that may not be the case at all.
I spoke over the weekend to my cousin, who is a world reknown vascular surgeon. He's the guy that told me last year that my "throat" problem was really a heart problem, and probably saved my life. So I sent him the entire file from my recent hospital stay and TIA episodes.
"Cliff," he said, "this doesn't look like a stroke to me, even a mini stroke." Turns out that even the tiny ones leave some sort of trace, and there was no trace on my tests. Not one drop of blood where it wasn't supposed to be.
Hmmm. A clue.
"It may be med related, or a migraine type of thing," he said.
Whoa. You've never seen someone so glad to find out that they may have a migraine. I am so there!
There's still more docs to see before a final ruling, but I like the way this is shaping up. Green bananas here I come!
